Jet2, EasyJet and Turkish Air direct from London Gatwick to Bodrum. British Airways and EasyJet from London Gatwick to Dalaman. UK regional departures and charter flights are also available. Many airlines only operate this route during the summer season (usually from May to October).

Mausoleum at Halicarnassus

Built between 353 and 350 BC, the Mausoleum at Halicarnassus is one of the Seven Wonders of the World. Built by Artemisia after her husband and the ruler of Caria, Mausolus, died, she was said to have been so heartbroken that she hired the very best artists to create the most magnificent tomb in the world. Indeed, the sculptures that adorned it were built by the four leading artists of the time - Scopas, Bryaxis, Leochares and Timotheus. Located in modern day Bodrum, the ancient ruins are easily accessed from the charming town.
