A Luxury Travel Guide To Turkey

Where Europe and Asia meet, you'll find the endlessly fascinating country of Turkey.

Sprawling across two continents, with a coastline of over 4,000 miles along three seas, the extraordinary expanse of Turkey is full of contrasts; from old and new cities, to historic ruins and maze-like bazaars, there is something to attract everyone to the country's golden shore.
Following Turkey's recent reintroduction to our prestigious portfolio, we have created a short luxury travel guide to help you plan your next adventure to the country best known as 'the world's largest open-air museum'.

Bodrum

Although Bodrum may be one of the most cosmopolitan resorts on the Aegean Sea, there is still a plethora of historic landmarks in the town, as well as whitewashed houses which seemingly climb the region's hillside. From the town's crowning glory of Bodrum Castle (also home to the fascinating Museum of Underwater Archaeology) to the boutique-filled back streets, a luxury holiday to Bodrum blends Turkey's heritage and refreshingly modern atmosphere, seamlessly. There is also the site of the Mausoleum - one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World - and the well-preserved Bodrum Antique Theatre to discover, which provide a striking insight into significant parts of Bodrum's cultured past.

Beaches

There's a charming collection of beaches which stretch out from the Bodrum peninsula, from popular, family-friendly coves to less known, golden-sand gems. Despite its proximity to the town, Bitez beach is relatively quiet and features a picturesque harbour filled with brightly coloured sailing boats. Alternatively, travel 30-minutes out of Bodrum town to beautiful Yalikavak Beach. This sublime sandy stretch is lined with perfectly-placed sun loungers overlooking scenic sea vistas, whilst there are also plenty of fabulous fine dining venues nearby for a freshly prepared lunch with a view.

Luxury Hotels in Turkey

Set within Bodrum's naturally stunning surroundings, there is a myriad of luxury hotels and boutique boltholes to choose from. Nestled alongside the aptly named Paradise Bay, the well-polished Mandarin Oriental, Bodrum features two beaches, a fabulous three-storey spa, four outdoor swimming pools and no less than eight restaurants and bars; the definition of a resort that has it all! If you are seeking serenity, the simply breathtaking D Maris Bay is a hidden paradise with an impressive choice of sandy beaches and outdoor activities, whilst village-like Amanruya allows travellers to enjoy a traditional yet contemporary home-away-from-home experience, impeccably complemented by Aman's hallmark service.
