Pre- and post-cruise time in Oslo and Iceland completes your memorable journey, with some of the most iconic sights of the ‘Land of Fire and Ice’ a fitting end to a thrilling adventure.

Day 1 Welcome to Oslo, Norway

Fly to Oslo, Norway’s vibrant capital, where modern, urban living blends with an interesting Viking heritage. Check into Grand Hotel Oslo, located in the heart of the city and an ideal base from which to explore the many attractions, museums, and shopping opportunities. 

Day 2 Oslo and Longyearbyen, Norway

Fly from Oslo north into the Arctic Circle landing in Longyearbyen, the world’s most northernmost town and the capital and administrative centre of the Svalbard archipelago. On arrival, you will be met and transferred to your cruise’s pre-departure hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure. 

Day 3 Embarkation

Today, join your fellow adventurers on a guided tour of Longyearbyen. You will also venture out of town to the research station of Camp Barentz, where a guide will introduce you to the area’s fascinating history. After meeting some of the local husky dogs, it’s time to return to town for a visit to Svalbard Museum before you embark on your expedition ship in the late afternoon. This evening, a welcome dinner will celebrate the start of your thrilling adventure into the Arctic.  

Day 4 to 6 Svalbard

Promising a memorable polar adventure, the remote Arctic Archipelago of Svalbard is home to breathtaking landscapes and remarkable flora and fauna. Your expedition team will be looking out for unique Arctic wildlife, including Arctic foxes, reindeer, puffins, and of course the elusive polar bear, and optional activities include kayaking and the opportunity to take a ‘polar plunge’, the most exhilarating dip you will ever take!  

Day 7 to 8 Greenland Sea

Sail towards the coast of East Greenland, looking out for whales, seals, and a variety of seabirds on the way. Onboard experts are on hand to inform and entertain you as you travel, keen to impart their knowledge on the regional environment, history, and culture.   

 

Day 9 to 14 East Greenland

The next six days are dedicated to discovering East Greenland’s mesmerising landscape, fascinating Inuit culture and unique Arctic wildlife. East Greenland contains some of the Arctic’s most impressive scenery – here deep fjords contrast with towering ice-clad mountains, and gigantic icebergs drift in front of the awe-inspiring glaciers they originated from.

Cross the Denmark Strait to Iceland, looking out for whales in the Arctic waters as you travel.  

 

Day 16 Reykjavik, Iceland

An early cruise brings you to Reykjavik for a morning disembarkation. Transfer to The Reykjavik EDITION, a 5 Star hotel that exudes stylish, modern luxury and enjoys a prime position in downtown Reykjavik. The rest of today is at leisure - perhaps stroll along nearby Laugavegur Street, the city’s vibrant shopping district, or spend some time marvelling at the gleaming architecture of the Harpa Concert and Conference Center.

Day 17 The Golden Circle, Iceland

Day 17The Golden Circle, Iceland

Today, you can enjoy a private tour of Iceland’s iconic Golden Circle route, discovering three of the country’s most famous attractions. Spend time in Thingvellir National Park, visit the Geysir Geothermal Area, and marvel at the tumbling two-tiered waters of Gullfoss Waterfall. There’s also a chance to climb aboard a snowmobile on Iceland’s second biggest glacier, Langjokull, a thrilling way to end the day.

Before returning home on your international flight, you will stop at The Retreat at Blue Lagoon, a luxury spa and hotel located in the iconic Blue Lagoon geothermal area. Relax and immerse yourself in the mesmerising natural landscape, indulge in an innovative spa treatment, and soak weary limbs in the healing waters. You will then be transferred to the airport in time for your outbound flight.
