Along the Southern coast of the island, the beaches are protected by mountains, are never too windy or hot, and have their own individual charm. Chia has a lagoon cut off from the sea by a narrow spit of land, Cala Cipolla is wild and rugged, with dramatic rock formations that plunge into the sea, whilst Tuerredda's fine white sand stretches out to crystal-clear blue waters. The beaches in this region just beg to be explored.

Teti'aroa, French Polynesia
THE BRANDO
The breathtakingly beautiful Teti'aroa, in French Polynesia, is an atoll composed of twelve small islands, surrounding a sparkling turquoise lagoon. Bordering this lagoon are magical white-sand beaches frequently visited by sea turtles, manta rays and many exotic birds. In 1960, whilst searching the South Pacific for filming locations, Marlon Brando saw Teti'aroa for the first time. He was so taken aback by its beauty, that he made the island his personal retreat. Over the years he welcomed many ecologists and marine biologists to the shores, showing a keen environmental awareness before such things were commonplace. Now home to an exclusive resort which bears his name, The Brando offers carefree luxury amid pristine nature.
