Today, you depart from Adelaide onboard the iconic Ghan train. Settle into your comfortable cabin and gaze at South Australia's rolling countryside through the window before the impressive Flinders Ranges come into view. As day turns to night, it's time to enjoy regionally-inspired cuisine and fine wines before retiring to your comfortable cabin as the world continues to speed by.

Your journey continues through Australia’s desert landscape to Alice Springs, where a choice of off train excursions reveals the sights and culture of the area. It’s possible to pause your train ride and spend extra time here if you would like to visit one of Australia’s most famous attractions, Uluru.
Continuing to the tropical north, there’s time to explore the pristine wilderness of Katherine, venturing out on an Off Train Experience. Cruise the awe-inspiring Nitmiluk Gorge, learn about indigenous rock paintings and discover more about the culture of the Jawoyn people. As evening falls, Darwin approaches, and you reach the end of your epic Australian train journey.

A scenic private air transfer takes you to Bamurru Plains, just outside Kakadu National Park. A whole host of exciting bush experiences are included during your stay. Head out on a thrilling airboat ride across the floodplains, search for saltwater crocodiles on a river cruise, or explore the wilderness on an open-top game drive. Travel back to Darwin on day eleven for your international flight home.

A fantastic day tour that introduces you to some of the most famous wines in Australia with private tastings and a VIP experience at Henschke Wines. Your first stop is Torbreck’s The Laird Vineyard to see one of the most famous single vineyard sites in the country, continuing on to one of the Barossa’s most famous boutique wine brands, Elderton Wines, where you can enjoy a tour and private tasting session in the Elderton Homestead. Next it's onward to Torbreck, home to some of the finest vineyards and growers in the region making ultra-premium wines, where a winery tour, barrel tasting and private cellar door tasting is included. A delicious two-course lunch with paired wines is then served at Vintners Restaurant before a VIP Tour and Tasting Experience at Henschke Wines. Making arguably the best wine in all of Australia, produced by six generations of the Henschke family, you can enjoy exclusive hosted access to the celebrated vineyard, Hill of Grace, with an hour in the vineyard walking next to the oldest 'Grandfather' vines that date back to the 1860s. A tour of the historical working winery will give you an insight into 150 years of family winemaking and a private tasting of ten wines, including Henschke's most precious vintages, is sure to impress.
The Ghan operates on this route from April to October with the lowest temperatures in the Red Centre from May to August. Darwin and the north is best visited May to October during the dry season.
