Over the next two days, you’ll be able to explore the lush vegetation and wildlife of the area surrounding your sumptuous accommodation. Embark on a Naturalistic Honey Tour, learning about the beekeeping process and the inner workings of a beehive as you taste local honey and discover the world of bees. Navigate the twists and turns of the Peñas Blancas River on a thrilling safari float, spotting playful monkeys, sloths hanging lazily in the trees and a dazzling array of birdlife as you float down the river. Learn the secrets of Costa Rican cuisine with Chef Arthuro Paniagua or visit the Arenal Volcano National Park and hike one of the many trails, enjoying breathtaking panoramic vistas of Lake Arenal, the active Arenal Volcano and the lush green valleys below.

Today you’ll leave Nayara Tented Camp and head towards your next accommodation, the Four Seasons Papagayo, a luxurious retreat offering refined rooms, an incredible range of restaurants, an 18-hole Four Season Costa Rica golf course designed by Arnold Palmer and a signature spa with sumptuous treatments. Spend your days here at your own pace, whether it's luxuriating by the pool with a good book, teeing off at sunrise, exploring the vibrant surrounding area with adventurous excursions or simply soaking up the sun on pristine beaches.
Take a private car transfer to and from Four Seasons Papagayo for all your activities and take a private car transfer from the hotel to the airport for your return flight.
After pick up from your hotel, head towards the Arenal Hanging Bridges where you can enjoy a peaceful stroll through the picturesque canopy on a tree-top walk. Keep an open eye and follow your guide so you don’t miss out of anything that crosses your path, encountering wildlife of all kings and learning about their habitats. Afterwards, get ready to meet a local family who will cook and serve you a traditional lunch by the side of the river before heading to the Arenal Volcano National Park, learning about the ancient the volcanic climate as you hike around its base.
On this hike along the trails of Arenal National Park, enter the tropical forest and areas which were once devastated by the fury of the volcano. During the hike, it is possible to see a great variety of the area’s characteristic flora and fauna, as well as sites of interest like the impact craters and the lava slides of 1992, a large accumulation of solidified volcanic material ejected from the crater of this mighty colossus. On clear days, you will enjoy incredible views of the impressive Arenal Volcano, Arenal Lake, the Tilarán mountain range, and Cerro Chato.
Things to bring: Hiking shoes or trainers, comfortable clothing, raincoat, insect repellent, bathing suit and towel (if you would like a dip in the hot springs).
One of Costa Rica’s most renowned attractions, the spectacular Canopy Ecoglide is nestled within the lush, wildlife-filled Arenal Volcano National Park. Enjoy a unique bird’s eye view as you join a guide to make your way across a three-part adventure course of 13 zipline cables and 15 platforms, allowing you to get closer to the flora and fauna of the rainforest. Get set for true adrenaline-pumping thrills as you soar over the forested hillsides and glimpse views of the striking volcano!
Take to the South Pacific Ocean on an exhilirating full day boat tour to explore the inaccessible parts of the Gulf of Papagayo. Joined by an expert captain and naturalist guide, experience fishing for species such as mahi-mahi, black tuna, mackerel, marlin and rooster fish, while you may even spot whales and dolphins from July to November. With fabulous beach toys, stand-up paddle boards, wakeboards and a ‘subwing’ for underwater swimming experiences alongside the fish and dolphins, this excursion promises to be a day out to remember!
You will be picked up from your hotel and taken on a short drive outside of La Fortuna, where your adventure will begin. Start the trip with a 20-minute gondola ride up to an observation deck with spectacular views of the Arenal Rainforest Reserve. Then it is take off! Experience the excitement and adrenaline of zip lining above the rainforest treetops, from as high as 600 ft and crossing distances of 2,600 feet! After your zip lining adventure, you will be driven to Pure Trek's base offices and gardens to change your clothes and eat a delicious Costa Rican lunch. After lunch, you will be driven into the mountains by 4WD along a road with amazing views of forest and the famous Arenal Volcano. You will arrive at a ranch house where your guides will gear you up, before heading out into the canyons. Rappelling down exciting and exhilarating waterfalls, a canyon walk, Monkey Drop (zip line & rappel) and a rock climb can all be enjoyed in the spectacular rainforest canyon. You will then return to the base offices to take a look at the photos of your adventure, have some delicious Costa Rican coffee and then head back to your hotel.
The best time to visit Costa Rica is during the dry season between December and April, when there is bright sunshine and very little rainfall.
