Perched high up on its own peninsula, boasting panoramic views of the surrounding sea and Rodney Bay in the distance, Morne Trulah is one of the best sited villas in St Lucia. Having undergone two years of renovations, an impressive three-thousand square-foot of space has been added to this enviable abode, which comprises four spacious bedrooms all with private terraces. Set within the remains of an 18th century defensive battlement, great care has been taken to retain its character, with five-hundred-year-old Tudor bricks and Welsh slate transported in from Britain. And it’s not just the building itself that’s impressive – the estate also boasts seven acres of lush tropical gardens bursting with fruit, vegetables, herbs and blooming bougainvillea, orchids and palm trees. Climate

St Lucia enjoys a hot, sub tropical climate tempered by the cooling tradewinds most of the year which makes it a pleasant temperature most of the year. From June to November there can be sporadic tropical showers, while the driest period, from December to May is the most popular time to visit. Some of the best beaches to enjoy the sun and cool off with a swim include Jalousie Beach, Anse Chastanet and La Brelotte Bay.

Hurricanes
There is a ‘hurricane season’ in the Caribbean, Gulf of Mexico, Central Mexico and South Eastern seaboard of America between June and November, the months of August and September being particularly susceptible.

Getting There

Flight Information
British Airways and Virgin Atlantic direct from London Gatwick. Private charter flights available on request.

Flight Time
From London Gatwick to St Lucia: 8 hours, 50 minutes.

The Pitons

Featured on the national flag, the Pitons are breathtaking mountains of rock that loom over St Lucia like guardians over the island. Covered in luscious vegetation, these iconic landmarks are best observed with a trip to the Pitons National Park, offering visitors astounding views from every angle. For those seeking an active pursuit, it is possible to take a tour to one of the peaks for a panoramic view of stunning St Lucia as well as many of her neighbouring islands.

The Pitons
The Diamond Waterfall

The Diamond Waterfall is one of St Lucia’s many natural treasures, located in a sheltered gorge at the base of the mighty Pitons. The mineral-rich nature of the land fortifies the stream’s rainwater with volcanic properties, showcasing various colour tones and hues as the water cascades over the rock face.

The Diamond Waterfall
The Sulphur Springs

The Sulphur Springs and so-called ‘drive-in volcano’ are amongst some of St Lucia’s most popular attractions. The volcanic, sulphurous spectacle can be accessed by a scenic hike or by car, should you prefer to conserve energy for the mineral baths. King Louis XVI of France believed that St Lucia’s natural beauty and enriched environment had many healing properties and, as a result, built twelve stone baths for his troops occupying the island in the 18th century. Today, many natives still advocate the bath’s wondrous, restorative abilities. Experiencing the mineral and mud baths for yourself is the ideal way to become literally immersed in St Lucian culture and age-old aesthetic practices: the original spa bath experience.

The Sulphur Springs
The Botanical Gardens

The Botanical Gardens are akin to a natural art gallery, so vibrant and captivating are the colours of these exotic blooms. For families, the option of a guided turtle-watching tour is an ideal and unforgettable way to spend quality holiday time.

Adventure Seekers

Feel the thrill on an island adventure: dive at some of the Caribbean’s premier sites, explore the Pitons (with or without a guide), take a Jeep safari, or enjoy a scenic helicopter flight over St Lucia for breathtaking views - Rainforest Canopy Tours offers a bird-eye view of the entire island and beyond. Of course, being surrounded in crystal-clear Caribbean waters, St Lucia offers a plethora of watersports activities.

Adventure Seekers
Relax

St Lucia is perfect for lazy days. Unwind beside the pool at a luxurious hideaway hotel or on a palm-fringed beach. For the perfect blend of exploration and relaxation, charter a yacht or catamaran to cruise the island’s crystalline coastline and its many stunning bays. Cap Maison motor yacht is available for private island sailing excursions. Cap Maison also boasts one of the Caribbean's best restaurants – The Cliff at Cap, which is perfect for enjoying contemporary cuisine with a French-West Indian influence, on your return. If you really need to wind down, The BodyHoliday offers a completely relaxing experience with emphasis on spa rejuvenation, exercise and diet in the most picturesque and inspiring surroundings.

Relax
Culture

If you’d like to discover more about the island’s heritage, there are many interactive tours available including the plantation Tour at Fond dOr Nature Historic Park where you can learn about the St Lucia’s sugar age, whilst a tour of Fond Latisab Park showcases local Creole traditions. If culinary culture is more to your taste, take a trip to a Creole show house to see how traditional local dishes are made. Alternatively, there are many fantastic Creole-inspired restaurants in the vibrant capital of Castries which can cater to every palate and plate.
