Luxury Holidays At Villa Cora

Situated in meticulously kept grounds on a hillside above the Boboli Gardens, close to the Piazzale Michelangelo, Villa Cora was built in the 1870s by Baron Oppenheim for his beloved wife, Princess Eugenia. Guest rooms range from the delightful rose-themed boudoirs, to Moorish-inspired rooms and the grandest rooms of all with parquet mahogany floors and frescoed ceilings. Take a journey through the ground floor’s connecting rooms, which include a card room, ceramics room and cigar room, a gloriously ornate ballroom, The Mirror Room, and the stylish Le Bar Long, decorated in sumptuous shades of purple velvet and silk. During summer guests can dine alfresco by the pool at Le Bistrot restaurant, or, during winter, inside in the Moorish room. The restaurant opens its doors for private dinners, cookery lessons and wine-tastings. A subterranean spa is situated beneath the Villa Eugenia (previously the gatehouse) and can be accessed via an underground tunnel or a shuttle service.
