Culture & History

Amanzoe is perfectly placed for archaeological sites, including the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Epidaurus amphitheatre and temples that are under an hour away - why not time your stay to coincide with a summer performance held there? Another UNESCO gem is Mycenae, of mythical Agamemnon fame, approximately one hour, thirty minutes away from the resort. There are monasteries, too, such as the Byzantine abbey of St Dimitrios, carved into a rock face and also, the ancient citadel and dam of Tirynth, not to mention Nafplio, an attractive old seaport that reigned capital for a while.

Luxury Beach

Situated in a beautiful bay with sparkling turquoise waters is the Amanzoe Beach Club. Guests have exclusive use of the Beach Club and its facilities which include a restaurant and water sports. Access to the club is a five to ten-minute drive, thirty-minute walk or ten minutes by mountain bike.

For total indulgence, hire a private Beach Club Cabana, which are located on the shoreline close to the Beach Club, and offer every comfort you could need. As well as an air-conditioned bedroom and bathroom, each cabana has a terrace, large garden and private swimming pool overlooking the sea. Guests can also dine or enjoy private massages in the grounds of the cabana if they wish.

Amanzoe warmly welcomes families, especially in summer, when a dedicated children's host plans a line-up of activities at the pool and Beach Club. Outings range from adventure-filled sails to outlying islands and tours of crumbling ruins, to family-friendly treks through mountain villages and visits to the local Beekeeper and Honey Museum.
