Luxury Holidays At Vumbura Plains

Vumbura Plains is a luxurious tented camp situated in Vumbura Reserve - a remote private concession in the extreme north of the Okavango Delta that features a wonderful variety of habitats and wildlife, including Red Lechwe, Sable Antelope, lions, leopards, elephants, cheetah and buffalo. There are two separate camps, each with seven luxury guest tents, their own dining, lounge and bar area, spacious, furnished viewing deck and private plunge pool. The spacious, uniquely designed guest tents are open on three sides and raised off the ground on wooden decks, offering panoramic views of the surrounding floodplains whilst tucked beneath a canopy of shading indigenous trees, and each comprises a bedroom, en suite bathroom, lounge, outdoor shower, a plunge pool and an outdoor sala to relax in. Open Land Rovers guarantee thrilling game-spotting and close-up encounters with the animals.

Vumbura Reserve offers an enormous area of nearly 130,000 acres, offering land and water-based activities in a wonderful variety of habitats. With a great diversity of wildlife, the main activity at Vumbura Plains is game-viewing and open 4x4 Land Rovers allow close proximity to animals in the savannah and forested areas.

Vumbura is possibly the only area in the Okavango Delta where you can see Red Lechwe and the Sable Antelope on the same game-drive. Add in lions, leopards, elephants, cheetahs and buffaloes, along with all the plains animals, and you have an excellent all-round wildlife experience in a remote and private part of the Okavango.

Guests who enjoy bird-watching will love the combination of Okavango water 'specials', including acacia and dry woodland species, while walks, trips in traditional mokoros (dug-out canoes) and boating excursions give Vumbura Plains' guests the opportunity to enjoy Botswana from a different perspective.
