Dining is a very relaxed affair at Mt Mulligan Lodge. All meals are included and are served in the main lodge at times to suit guests. The ambitious chef showcases local produce and outback flavours in a daring and imaginative way. It's not uncommon to see dishes such as kangaroo tataki with miso cream or red claw (caught on the property) with roasted garlic and macademia crumb on the menu. If you're planning to go exploring for the day, a gourmet picnic can be prepared to enjoy whilst out and about. The aptly named and delightfully rustic Sunset Bar with it’s bare wooden counters and corrugated iron is a stone’s throw from the main lodge and is the perfect place to watch the sun go down over the eucalyptus trees with majestic views of the rugged mountain ranges beyond. Definitely a moment to take it all in, drink in hand and camera at the ready to capture the scene bathed in soft, golden light.

Climate

Gold Coast experiences a sub-tropical climate During the summer months of December to February is when the Gold Coast experiences most of its annual rainfall. The average temperatures range between 20°C and 28°C. The hot days are often followed by tropical storms at night. This is an ideal time of year to visit the rainforests and mountain creeks that surround the Gold Coast.

Winter on the Gold Coast sees whales visiting the coast line, the cooler days are great days to get out on the water to whale watch. The cooler temperatures mean that there is also less humidity and less rain so it is the perfect time to spend at the beach and surfing.

The autumn days, March to May, are generally sunny and warm followed by equally warm nights and drier than the summer days. The humidity is lower as well. Autumn on the Gold Coast is the perfect time to enjoy sailing and other water sports due to the winds still being strong and tropical storms being less frequent.

Spring is similar to autumn on the Gold Coast; with a rising humidity as September to November roll by with increasing rainfall and temperatures. This is also the windiest part of the year for the Gold Coast so sports such as sailing, wind surfing, kite surfing and kite boarding are perfect to enjoy.
