With temperatures at their best between July and September, Bermuda is a fantastic place to bring the family, especially during the summer holidays.
What’s more, Bermuda offers stacks of things for families to see and do: Meet native fish and other colourful creatures at the Bermuda Aquarium, Museum and Zoo; check out awesome stalactites and stalagmites at Crystal Caves; delve back in time at Fort St Catherine, perched on a craggy headland washed by clear, turquoise seas, or leave a trail of family footprints on Horseshoe Bay Beach, a shimmering crescent of pale pink sands.
For amazing snorkelling, try Tobacco Bay Beach, with its rare limestone deposits and shoals of pretty fish, or for an eye-popping view of the island, climb to the top of Gibb’s Hill Lighthouse or scale the ramparts at the Royal Naval Dockyard, today transformed into a collection of inviting shops, eateries and attractions, including Snorkel Park Beach, with dazzling coral and fish in shallow waters just off shore. Also at the dockyard is Dolphin Quest, where you can enjoy close encounters with Bottlenose Dolphins in their special marine home – the kids will love it!
And don’t miss an outing to the Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute, a fascinating place for all the family with all kinds of interactive displays and events – including a virtual submarine dive taking you 1,200ft deep to meet whales, sharks and more!
A great place to stay is Rosewood Tucker’s Point, with its dedicated kids’ programme called Rosebuds – pizza-making, talent shows, golf, treasure hunts and smoothies on the beach are just a few of the activities on offer.
