In April, there is a diverse range of destinations to choose from for a luxury holiday, whether beaches, golf, adventure, culture, wildlife or cities are your motivation.
Close to home, the Canary Islands and Marrakech in Morocco offer winter sun and lots for families to do, while Madeira in spring is perfect, when the two-month Flower Festival begins. Golfers can enjoy a convivial getaway with friends in Portugal’s Algarve region and April is also a wonderful time to take a European city break, with cooler weather allowing for a more comfortable climate in which to enjoy culture and cuisine – Italian destinations, including Venice, are particularly appealing.
Over in the USA, Scottsdale continues to delight, with its flower-bedecked desert landscapes and sunny weather ideal for playing golf, while exploring New England in spring will appeal to those who wish to discover the region when there are fewer tourists. In the Deep South, April is not yet too humid, making the climate ideal to discover this fascinating area, and further south still, high season comes to an end for the Caribbean, meaning it’s a more affordable time to visit.
In South America, the Galapagos Islands continues to charm visitors in April. Wildlife-viewing is thrilling, while warmer waters allowing for pleasant snorkelling experiences.
If the Indian Ocean is calling, the Seychelles is your best bet for April travel – it is hot, humid and winds are light. However, you may wish to consider Vietnam for a luxury beach holiday, as many Vietnamese beach destinations enjoy beautiful weather at this time.
Another option is Oman, where the climate is neither too hot, nor humid and it’s less busy than in the winter. The scenery is also a delight, as blooming roses provide a pretty embellishment to the Jebel Akkdar Mountains.
