Game Drives and Wildlife
The vast desert of the Central Kalahari is home to a variety of wildlife. The open landscape is ideal hunting territory for cheetah, while large black-maned Kalahari lion can often be seen stalking gemsbok and springbok. The reserve is also home to several packs of critically endangered wild dog. What’s more, some 220 bird species have been identified here. Game drives explore the vast wilderness, whilst a guided walk gives an insight into the smaller species and eco-systems, showing how much life there really is in what initially seems a barren environment.

A stay in the Central Kalahari isn’t just about the wildlife. Learn about the fascinating culture of the local Baswara San Bushmen on an interactive walk, joining them to explore the area, as they explain their beliefs, way of life and how they forage for food in this remote and harsh environment.
