Discover the frozen wonderland of Earth’s southernmost continent, where mesmerising landscapes play host to unique wildlife, as you venture through one of the most remote and pristine places on the planet. Travelling on an industry-leading expedition ship with 1-A Super ice class rating, you will visit areas other ships cannot reach, whilst the highest level of comfort on board includes facilities such as heated salt-water pool, fitness centre, and sauna. Time in Argentina’s vibrant capital at the beginning and end completes your adventure.

Day 1 to 2 Welcome to Buenos Aires, Argentina

Fly to Buenos Aires and transfer to your hotel for the next two nights, Four Seasons Hotel Buenos Aires. Get to know the city on a historic city tour visiting notable landmarks including the Government House and Plaza de Mayo Square, before enjoying an excursion to the sophisticated Palermo district on your second day in the city. 

Day 3 to 4 Ushuaia, Argentina

On day 3 it’s time to check out of your hotel and board a domestic flight to the southernmost city in the world, Ushuaia, where you’ll transfer to the Arakur Resort & Spa. Spend the next day as you wish, exploring local sights including museums and Argentinean leather markets, or simply relaxing at your hotel. There is even an optional briefing where you can meet some of your fellow explorers and ask the crew any questions you have about your forthcoming trip.

After a morning at leisure, the time has come to board the MS Seaventure, a world-class expedition ship that will take you on your adventure into the ‘Frozen Continent’. After being welcomed by the Expedition Team and listening to a safety and orientation briefing, a Captain’s welcome dinner marks the beginning of your journey.  

Day 6 to 7 Drake Passage

As you cross the Antarctic Convergence into Antarctic waters, you’ll start to notice the temperatures dropping, preparing you for your first sighting of one of the many majestic icebergs you’re cruising ever nearer to. Spend your days with the ship’s Polar Experts in the lounge learning about all things Antarctic or participate in the renowned Citizen Science program helping with real-world scientific research.  Alternatively, you might choose to simply sit back and soak up the journey, perhaps using a pair of binoculars to spot some of the many seabirds that follow the ship. 

Day 8 South Shetland Islands, Antarctica

The volcanic South Shetland Islands are home to diverse wildlife, including penguins and seals, and breathtaking landscapes. Travelling onto land on an inflatable Zodiac boat, it’s time to explore the first stop on your Antarctic adventure. 

Day 9 to 11 Antarctic Circle

Travelling south across the Bransfield Strait towards the Antarctic Circle, you’ll pass through ice-covered waters surrounded by dramatic mountain ranges and towering glaciers. From the most southern point (south of the Antarctic Circle), you’ll make your way back north, cruising through the narrow channels of the Antarctic Peninsula.

Heading north, you can spend the next three days exploring, as the ship manoeuvres through ice-clad channels and traverses wildlife-rich waters. Stops at scientific bases and historic landing sites allow you to get close to penguins, seals and whales.  

Day 15 to 16 Drake Passage

As your journey draws to a close, it’s time to leave this magical place, once again crossing the Drake Passage on your way back to Argentine waters. A special slideshow and final meal with your fellow travellers is a special end to a memorable adventure.  

Day 17 Ushuaia, Argentina

Disembark and travel to the airport for your domestic flight back to Buenos Aires. A night in Four Seasons Hotel Buenos Aires gives you the chance to rest before your international flight back home the next day.   

Day 18 Fly to UK
