Two of Our Team's Favourite Places to Stay in Antigua

Introducing you to stellar island stays...

Antigua offers a refreshing change of pace from the bustling energy of some other Caribbean islands. Laid-back luxury is delivered with a genuine smile, and visitors are welcomed into the island's authentic charm with open arms. It is an island that creates an unforgettable sense of belonging, no matter how long you're there for.
Relaxation reigns supreme, with a level of service that sets this island apart from the rest. If you're considering a luxury Caribbean holiday for your next beach break, and not sure which island to choose, Antigua's indulgent offerings certainly tempts.
Beyond the tropical climate and crystal-clear waters, Antigua boasts a level of luxury that will truly spoil you. Delectable dining experiences and stunning beaches promise a relaxing luxury holiday. But there is also a choice of world-class resorts, which leaves you with the question of where to stay in Antigua.
Two exceptional Antigua resorts that deserve attention are Carlisle Bay and Blue Waters Resort & Spa, and our experts have some personal insights from first-hand experiences at both.

On the South Coast...

Carlisle Bay

Carlisle Bay has become renowned on the island for its luxurious offerings. As one of Antigua's most exclusive stays, you'll find elegantly appointed suites set between powder-soft sand and luscious rainforest. Incorporating the natural beauty of its setting into the rest of the resort, the outcome is relaxed refinement.

Carlisle Bay is spread over 150 acres and is situated in a quiet cove on the South Coast of Antigua with a dramatic backdrop of rolling hills and lush tropical rainforest. It really is a world-class resort, with a stunning beach position, personalised service and so many activities on site.

Close by is the picturesque island capital of St. Johns and the English Harbor, as well as Cades Reef and Sting Ray City for underwater adventures. At the hotel itself, indulgent activities encompass the 17,000-square-foot CARA Organic Beauty Spa and Firepit Fridays at The Jetty Bar.

Cades Reef is an amazing snorkelling excursion close by, perfect for spotting turtles. The hotel can also organise a picnic on Great Bird Island.

On the Northwest Coast...

Blue Waters Resort & Spa

Blue Waters
Tasteful and tropical, Blue Waters Resort & Spa is one of Antigua's longest-established resorts. Whilst a friendly atmosphere and superb service stem from its family-owned heritage, the resort's timeless character and signature style have come from years of careful consideration. Every detail has meaning, connected to its colonial roots and a passion for the island, from al fresco lunches by the beach to the complimentary water sports with instructors available for beginners.

There are so many spots in Blue Waters Resort & Spa with the most stunning views of the ocean. When we arrived at the resort, we walked through reception, to the pool bar and down to the beach - what an introduction to paradise! We were even greeted with the sight of pelicans diving for fish at the bay.

Set against Soldier's Bay, there are three fabulous private beaches available to guests. Revel in the seclusion on a sun lounger, or swim, sail or canoe the crystal-clear waters.

Antigua is less commercialised in comparison to some other Caribbean islands, keeping in touch with the simplicity of island life, but still offering great service paired with a very friendly smile.
