The Best Skiing Destinations in the USA

Although many in search of a luxury ski holiday would venture to the nearby Alps, heading further afield to the powder-white pistes of the United States is not to be underestimated.

We've decided to share some of our favourite American ski destinations to help you plan your next snow-fuelled escapade to the magnificent United States of America. Not only can you enjoy amazing runs, incredible Après and luxury resorts, but you can do so whilst taking in the American lifestyle, with no worries about language barriers and the opportunity to experience life State-side.

Where are the best skiing destinations in the USA?

Vail

Immaculately groomed slopes, state-of-the-art lifts and an unbelievable snow record are only the beginning of Vail's appeal. Featuring nearly 200 trails across over 5,000 acres, it is unsurprising this immense ski resort is considered one of the finest in the world! When it's time to depart the slopes for the day, there is also the beauty of a Bavarian-style village centre to explore in the evening.

With seven legendary Back Bowls and approximately 300 days of sunshine every year, Vail has become synonymous with those looking for an unbeatable skiing experience. The resort's ski and snowboard school is world-class, with professional instructors always eager to help you explore the snow-covered landscapes, whilst experienced skiers should take advantage of the high-speed chairlifts and head for Blue Sky Basin, the new jewel in Vail's terrain crown.

Vail's pedestrianised village has become the epitome of ski resort luxury, with astounding architecture mimicking classic Austrian design. With heated streets remaining clear of snow, it's easy to explore the exceptional shopping and dining scene, including sublime steakhouse Flame at Four Seasons Resort Vail and the fresh, organic cuisine served at The Sebastian Vail's inviting restaurant Leonora.
