When I first arrived, I was actually quite taken aback at how welcoming and friendly the property was. It was not what I was expecting - no white lab coats in sight! Instead, I walked into a beautiful, boutique hotel with views of the mountains and Altea beach in the distance.
Despite the focus of your stay here being treatments and health improvements, it is still a stunning stay. The rooms are relaxed but give you plenty of space, with a dressing room, walk-in wardrobe and huge terrace. There are also larger exclusive suites available.
There is one restaurant which has a huge outdoor terrace and deck with a large pool overlooking the mountains. It has almost a beach club atmosphere with cool music playing all day long.
The food is based on your nutritionist consultation though; the three menus they offer are Sha, which is a more gourmet option and the only option to include fish; Bio, which has less choice; and Cusha, geared towards weight loss.
I was on a mix of Bio and Sha but was also recommended that my diet was to include a range of teas, seaweeds and sauerkraut for extra minerals.
It all starts with the consultations. As mentioned, one of these is with the nutritionist, but I also had a general health exam and advanced preventative diagnostic. My body fat was measured, I had a strength test and also had a cognitive test that almost felt like a game. I also met with a doctor who went through these results with me, asked about any concerns and advised on supplements.
Across the rest of the programme, I then had several treatments, workshops and sessions that were all based around rebalancing and energising. These ranged from the familiar, like personal training sessions and Pilates, to treatments like IV ozone therapy where blood was taken then washed with oxygen and put back into the body to increase energy and immunity for up to two months.
There was a real range of treatments too. Some were medical, however others were relaxing like the Hydrogentrive detox - a bath with lots of jets followed by seaweed wrap and water massage - or Shiatsu which is like a Thai massage but softer.
The whole time I was there I felt really cared for by an amazing team of experts, and I am so impressed with the difference just four days could make. I came away feeling revitalised and ready to take on the new year.
The balance of long-term health advice and boosting treatments means that I still feel as great as when I left.
