Sustainable Luxury
While dedicated to offering utterly unforgettable stays in true luxury, Royal River also realises that they have a responsibility to be as socially, economically and environmentally sustainable as possible. That's why, even in the early planning stages, sustainability was at the centre of the vision for the luxury hotel. Fast forward to today, here are just some of the (many!) ways that the resort aims to protect the planet and its people...
- The resort consumes only 100% renewable energy
- All water is heated through biomass boilers
- The use of home-automation in villas and public areas ensures that lighting and air conditioning is effectively managed
- Only biodegradable products are used for cleaning
- Pools are kept clean with saltwater rather than an abundance of chemicals
- There is a state-of-the-art waste recycling system
- Single-use plastics are nowhere to be seen - shower caps, bin bags, straws and water bottles are all biodegradable, while toiletries are in larger dispensers to avoid single-use products
- Following the building of the hotel, they have planted over 100 palm trees and more than 3,000 other plants
- There are charging points for electric vehicles
- In terms of social sustainability, the resort purchases potatoes, cheese, fish, vegetables, fruit and wine from local suppliers, in order to support the island's agricultural economy

Only adults can stay in these super stylish sanctuaries, which are linked by a unique swimmable river pool that leads into the individual plunge pools of each villa. POOL VILLAS

Named after the Japanese term for 'the connection between heart and soul', Kokoro is bound to delight lovers of Asian flavours, serving up a tasting menu of outstanding dishes that will excite, surprise and delight your senses. For elegant French chic with a splash of modernity, Flamingo is an oasis of bold prints and striking décor, presenting rich and delicious French bistro dishes that will rival any you may have tasted in France's finest restaurants. Think crab crêpes, top-class caviar and classic crème brulee. Meanwhile, only one thing surpasses the jaw-dropping panoramic views that await at the stunning rooftop restaurant 'The Top': the food. This luxury Tenerife hotel has nailed the balance between true relaxation and unique experiences. The incredible infinity pool (reserved for grown-ups only) promises amazing views over the ocean and adjacent Costa Adeje Golf Course, at which golf lovers can enjoy a round surrounded by some very special scenery.
Timelessly elegant and easily mistaken for a chic Parisian hangout, Bubble Bar is the place to head for a glass (or two) or fizz, refreshing Bellini or another creative Champagne cocktail. The dreamy drinks are hard to beat, though the gorgeous glassware and opulent décor are also bound to impress. Coming soon for the upcoming summer season, Royal River is set to make Sundays extra special with a vibrant weekly brunch of delectable dishes, live music and flowing drinks.
If you want to see more of Tenerife, the hotel is just a 15-minute walk (and super-quick drive) away from La Caleta, a seaside spot that offers superb seafood restaurant, a sandy beach and terrific turquoise water.
