Five of the Best Things to Do in Los Cabos

A guide to the area's abundant activities...

Los Cabos is the luxury capital of Mexico with plenty to keep discerning travellers captivated. What to do in Los Cabos naturally depends on individual tastes, but with its prime position on the southern tip of Mexico's Baja California peninsula, the crystal-clear waters and endless adventures in the area promise an extraordinary escape for everyone.
The region's unique combination of natural beauty, cultural richness, delicious dining and adventure opportunities make it a truly remarkable place to visit. So, with the help of our team of travel experts, we've put together a list of our five favourite things to do in Los Cabos.

Meet the Marine Life

The waters surrounding Los Cabos are home to a host of friendly locals, and a trip to the area isn't complete without meeting a few! Spend a day snorkelling in Cabo San Lucas and you'll likely see marine life like colourful fish, turtles and Mobular rays.

The area is known for its whale sightings too, so be sure to head out on a boat trip to the hotspots - you may also catch a glimpse of seals, orcas and dolphins.

Explore the Outdoors

The sunny skies and stunning landscapes of Los Cabos pair perfectly with outdoor adventures.
On land, you can explore San Jose del Cabo's estuary which is abundant in flora and fauna, hike Sierra de la Laguna's UNESCO-designated mountain ranges, or tee off on one of the 18 renowned golf courses.

There's plenty more to try at sea too, like kayaking, surfing and paddleboarding. One&Only Palmilla even has its own in-house surf school, where Tropicsurf pros will help any first-timers through the waves, and the stunning desert backdrop is sure to charm the more seasoned surfers.

Appreciate the Art and Culture

Beyond its natural beauty, Los Cabos also showcases its rich cultural heritage. Many parts of Los Cabos have a hidden history and a vibrant art scene that makes this picturesque region even more enthralling.

Wander the colonial streets of Cabo San Lucas, which is also home to the Natural History Museum, the area's largest museum. Or visit the once-thriving silver mining town of El Triunfo, a small town yet a relic of local history.

San Jose del Cabo's Art District is a must-see for your visit, showcasing both local and international creations, but this area also has its own long-spanning history, including pirate stories and trade routes.

With its incredible climate and location beside the sea, Los Cabos also offers flavourful cuisine. Restaurants here not only celebrate the local produce, but also benefit from time-honoured traditions when preparing dishes.

It's the diversity of Los Cabos, offering delectable dishes alongside bustling markets and corner taquerías that make it such a favourite for foodies.
