My experience of this highly anticipated new opening went above and beyond any of my expectations. So, what can you expect from Sir Richard Branson's newest property?
The approach to property was an exciting journey. Views across the estate met us as we made our way down the twisting mountainside driveway. The team are ready to welcome us as some of the first guests since the hotel opened. Their passion and pride of the property is evident throughout and the service is the perfect balance of professional and personable.
After a glass of cava on the terrace, we immediately felt relaxed. It is such a peaceful and tranquil setting, with the mountains behind and vineyards growing in ahead of the sea.
The property has been beautifully restored into an idyllic luxury hotel, retaining some amazing original features, while offering all modern conveniences (USBs, coffee machine, even hair straighteners!). The main building boasts a courtyard along with two towers - the most recent dating to 1932. You can even stay in one of the towers and enjoy your own private rooftop terrace. Two annex buildings house further accommodation, including some spectacular suites with beautiful terraces overlooking the wonderful pool area.
And speaking of the pool area, this heated swimming pool is one of the largest in Mallorca! It sits alongside a Jacuzzi and gorgeous sun loungers and parasols which extend over a lawn space below the main terrace.
We were lucky enough to experience the weekly Spanish night with a guitarist and flamenco dancer keeping us entertained throughout dinner. We feasted on an impressive spread of Spanish delicacies including a freshly made paella out on the terrace. It was such a fun evening, and I'd definitely recommend catching this during your stay.
Shuttles are available to venture out of the estate. They offer trips to three nearby villages, or a huge choice of places to explore all within an hour's drive. We enjoyed a boat trip to Sant Elm where a tender boat dropped us for a lovely seafood lunch at a local restaurant.
Back on the estate, you can choose to relax with a spa treatment or be more active with complimentary use of bikes. You can even opt to hire an electric bike if you're after a more easy-going ride. Or there are many hiking trails around the estate too. There are also pool tables, table tennis, boules and tennis courts all available for use so you're spoilt for choice.
The property is a real hidden gem and lovely addition to Mallorca's growing luxury offering. Some foliage is yet to bed in and there are still lots of development plans. The up-coming additions include a farm which will be lovely for families, and a working vineyard which is set to be producing their own wines by 2026.
It is definitely set to be one of the best places to stay for an opulent Mallorca holiday. You can really experience the beauty and peace of the region.
