Wharekauhau Country Estate offers the Edwardian-style grandeur of a bygone era, with elegant interiors providing wonderful places to relax, while outside, there's a beautiful courtyard, immaculate gardens and a pristine croquet lawn to tempt you. Guests are free to do as much or as little as they wish while staying at the estate and there are endless opportunities to enjoy activities such as clay-pigeon-shooting, quad-biking, horse-riding, archery, wine-tasting, hiking, mountain-biking and touring the farm, which is still a working sheep station. Otherwise, the day spa provides the relaxing alternative to these adventurous leisure pursuits. Guest accommodation comprises twelve superbly appointed suites, featuring four-poster beds, open fireplaces, fully stocked bars and views of the magnificent Palliser Bay beyond the estate. In addition, there is the beautifully furnished Wharepapa Cottage, a three-bedroom retreat located a short four kilometre drive away from the main lodge, which is perfect for families.
