ELEGANT TRAVELLER

The Little Nell Blogs

Aspen, with its four incredible mountains to ski and snowboard on, has long been nirvana for snow bunnies. It also happens to be one of the world’s most glamorous ski resorts, home to boutiques worthy of Rodeo Drive and a dining scene to rival anywhere else in the world. Slap bang in the middle of all this is The Little Nell, Aspen's singular ski-in/ski-out property and the 'go to' winter choice for those that frequent glamorous destinations such as Saint-Tropez in the summer and St Barths in the winter. Smart, chic and understated, a contemporary and sophisticated décor presides, accented by luxurious fittings and furnishings, while Element 47 is one of the best restaurants in Colorado, and Ajax Tavern, situated at the bottom of Silver Queen gondola, is frequented by locals and visitors alike.

A bijou spa offers a variety of treatments to restore and revitalise, whilst the service, including the Ski Concierge, is – as you would expect from a hotel with a guest list that includes the world’s most famous – superlative. Additionally, guests can say "I do" on the hotel's spectacular wedding deck, offering spectacular views of Highland Bowl, while for those guests not exchanging vows, The Little Nell is also the place to be for apres-ski, with Oasis, a Champagne Bar in collaboration with Veuve Clicquot; Chair 9, with fireside setting and resident DJs, as well as the sun-drenched, ski-in/ski-out patio at Ajax Tavern. A comprehensive programme of ski and winter adventures includes multi-day ski camps led by expert guides, snowcat powder tours, piste-bashing experiences and a snowcat academy (offering three-hour courses on how to drive these snow-grooming machines).
