So goes the adage and it’s one that couldn’t be more apt for the Hotel Das Cataratas, A Belmond Hotel, Iguazu Falls, which is conveniently located a mere stone’s throw away from the Brazilian side of the Iguaçu Falls, one of the world’s most impressive natural wonders. This former Portuguese- Colonial residence is set amidst expansive grounds filled with an abundance of flora - nourished by the constant spray from the cascading waters - and unique fauna, including toucans and giant butterflies. Classically styled rooms feature Portuguese hand- painted tiles and hardwood furnishings alongside more modern amenities such as wi-fi and widescreen televisions. There are two restaurants, a casual poolside eatery and the more formal restaurant with large veranda. In addition to a spa, gym and swimming pools, the hotel offers a number of walks and excursions to the falls including one at full moon.
