Built in 1892 as a summer home, for the family of timber magnate Faustino Feltrinelli, the Neo-Gothic Grand Hotel A Villa Feltrinelli, resides on one of Lake Garda’s finest pieces of waterfront real estate. Purchased in the 1990s by Bob Burns (of Regent Hotels) no expense has been spared in preserving and restoring the villa to its previous state of elegance; the original furniture and furnishings including ceiling frescoes, antique furniture, fine paintings and rare books bestowing a charming air of exclusivity throughout. There are just twenty suites, each with its own stately collection of antiques and every conceivable amenity, including heated marble bathroom floors - twelve of the suites are situated in the main house, the remaining eight lie scattered throughout the grounds. Cuisine is a two Michelin-starred, gastronomic pleasure, focusing on local produce, accompanied by some of Italy’s best vintages from the villa’s wine cellar.
