Casa Gangotena is a gorgeous, stylish boutique hotel housed within a restored historic mansion overlooking Plaza San Francisco in the historic heart of Quito. It is thought to be built on a site where an Inca temple once stood and in more recent history, it belonged to the Gangotena family, who were one of Quito’s most wealthy and influential families. With just thirty-one guest rooms and suites spread over three storeys, the hotel offers an intimate, homely atmosphere and it’s contemporary design is accentuated with antiques, fine furnishings and, of course, modern technology such as complimentary wi-fi and air-conditioning.
